Say what the girl could do at different times.
A. When she was two, she could ski. When she was three, she could dance. When she was four, she could dive. When she was five, she could do new tricks. When she was six, she could do a lot of thing she liked. When she was seven, she could skate. When she was eight, she could enjoy it.
Say what John was {not} able to do when he was a young child and what he is able to do now.
John was not able to: sing, swim, make a snowman, play basketball. John was able to: read picture books, play with his toys, ride a tricycle, roller-skate.
John is not able to: cook and dive.
John is able to: play on the computer, ride a bicycle, fish with his father, play basketball and football, read real books, skate and roller-skate.
